The marketing department at Kettle & Fire is on the hunt for a skilled freelance graphic designer. To put it simply, you'll be assisting in the production of promotional digital content of the highest quality. Someone who pays close attention to detail and is consistent across their entire portfolio would be ideal.

Position is remote and will report to our Creative Manager. This role is independent contractor-based.

Categories of Writing You'll Do

  • Assets for digital media, including social media, digital banners, concept visuals, and digital requests unique to retail
  • Inserts, direct mailers, and other print materials

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and implement design briefs for multiple platforms (social, website, display ads, inserts, etc.)
  • Develop ideas for visuals based on briefs, drawing from our stock of branded images, videos, and illustrations
  • Get design concepts on paper and ready for feedback from the creative team.
  • Create and adapt visual elements like logos, icons, and illustrations, either digitally or manually.
  • Keep in mind brand guidelines when deciding on colors and layouts for graphics.
  • Collaborate with writer and artist to complete design.
  • Modify plans based on comments.
  • Make sure the final designs are both aesthetically pleasing and consistent with the brand.

Requirements

  • Proven track record as a graphic designer
  • An impressive body of work featuring illustrations and other visual media
  • Having experience with various design programs and tools (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop)
  • Exceptional verbal and nonverbal communication skills An appreciation for beauty and detail
  • Capacity for methodical work and timely completion
  • Knowledge of digital advertising platforms and experience with major social media platforms is a plus.
